Thanks to all of you who contributed towards making our Vijyaeebhava Cultural program a grand success!

The Singapore Telugu Samajam (STS) celebrated the festival Dussehra with great pomp gusto and in the form of a cultural extravaganza titled "Vijayeebhava" on 12th October 2008 at TRCC auditorium, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore .

Attendees were received to the function in the most traditional way by offering Kumkum and

Camphor sticks which are brought from India .

 

More than 800 people witnessed the event with festive fervor and exhilaration on the colorfully decorated stage with colorful banners and flowers.

 

Mr.Jayadev Galla, Managing Director of Amara Raja Batteries, Permanent trustee of Rajanna trust and National chairman for Young Indians has graced the event as the chief guest.

 

It all began with a Lighting of lamp by chief guest Mr.Jayadev Galla.

 

The evening saw many colourful and spirited performances from the local Telugu Diaspora and the crowd was treated to some native Telugu cultural programs.

 

Mr.Arimilli Radha Krishna, President of Singapore Telugu Samajam welcomed the attendees and shared the samajam activities and he also said that his team is not only limiting to cultural activities but also focusing on charitable activities.

 

Mr.Jayadev expressed his satisfaction and his approval at the way the function was organised to promote Telugu and Andhra Values and also shared his vision for the future of India . He stressed that NRI's have a great role to play in the development and the upliftment of the country and outlined the various development projects being undertaken by him and his company in the form of the Rajanna Memorial Trust.

 

He also stressed the importance of youth in bringing about a "Technically Vibrant, Economically Strong and Morally Correct India". Mr.Jayadev concluded his speech by inviting the local Diaspora to participate in the Young Indian achievers program to do their share towards the betterment of the country.

 

The evening was one of joy and enjoyment for the entire Andhra NRI community.
